Cherries are not only delicious, but also packed full of vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds with powerful health effects.

The Cherry Facts:

One cup, or approximately 21 cherries, contains less than 100 calories and 15% of your daily vitamin C.

Full of antioxidants, (giving this fruit its beautiful deep red colour),  they are great for supporting the immune system and also have anti-inflammatory properties.

These cellular bodyguards (antioxidants) help to slow down aging, and ward off chronic illnesses – including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and obesity.

Cherries can also boost exercise recovery. They protect against the cellular wear and tear from exercise, helping support muscle recovery.

Many athletes will drink tart cherry juice after a workout, to help relieve exercise-induced muscle pain, damage, and inflammation.

These Chocolate Cherry Pancakes are not only a great weekend breakfast option, but perfect for a post workout snack. They can be made ahead of time, so they’re ready to grab, when you’re on the go!
