3 Reasons why Spinning is a Great Summer Workout!
It’s never too late in life to try spinning. If you think you are too old to start spinning, think again. Stationary bike exercise dates back to the 1890s… so technically, it’s a lot older than you!
Spin classes at One Health Clubs are a perfect fit for all ages and experience levels. If you are a beginner, or a complete newbie, it is important to note that the resistance on the spin bikes is under your control. This makes it possible for members of all experience levels to share the same class and have a great workout. You won’t need any specialized equipment. All you need are suitable workout clothes, a full water bottle and a towel.
Here are 3 great reasons to try spinning today:
1. Group Motivation!
When you’re working out alongside other people, the desire to continue to exercise (and to not back down or stop in the middle of your exercise) is greater. Many people find this to be a significant motivational facet of a spinning class. It can be a great way to encourage you to build your fitness; particularly if you have a hard time keeping yourself going on your own. Also, great music and energetic instructors will make the time fly by.
2. Reduced Risk of Injury!
Indoor cycling is considered a non-load bearing exercise; which means your body does not have to bear the burden of supporting all your weight throughout your workout. Since the majority of cycling exercises are done while sitting, the pressure is taken off your joints and you reduce your risk of injury. This is something that is not accomplished when participating in other (higher impact) cardio activities such as running.
3. Improved Heart Health and Lung Capacity!
Planned Spinning programs include both endurance and cardiovascular training during the workout. At several points you may be required to break your steady pace and speed up to increase your heart rate.
